He is an author of video films, photographies, artistic objects and performances. In the past the artist’s work concentrated mainly on his personal existence and identity, now more and more often he deals with social issues. He often emphasises the problem of marginalized or underrated work and its connection with economy. He undertakes projects that, as a crucial element, involve members of certain occupational groups (craftsmen, educators, artists). Concurrently Rumiancew’s works constantly negotiate the distance asking a question whether it is possible to be ironic and engaged at the same time. His works have been exhibited in numerous acknowledged museums and galleries across Poland.
